V-belt pulleys (also called sheaves) are for use with V-belts to transfer motion from motors to belts, fans, and pumps. They have V-shaped grooves that correspond with V-shaped belts to prevent slippage and misalignment. V-belt pulleys provide maximum friction and torque in compatible V-belt drive systems.  Available in single or double grooves, they offer a pitch range from 1.9 inches to 6.7 inches (A belt) and 2.4 inches to 7.0 inches (B belt).  Baldor Dodge 1VP and 2VP series are finished bore variable speed sheaves made of cast iron and designated for heavier duty service up to 25 HP.

Variable pitch pulleys are for use with 3L, 4L, 5L, A, B OR 5v belts.

VP designates variable pulley.  MVL is the product code used by the Baldor Dodge Brand for light duty sheaves.
